Operational Risk and Compliance Associate
The incumbent will sit within the Operational Risk Compliance team. The mandate will include responsibility for delivering an effective service, resulting in regulatory compliance and operational risk management within the business. The principle function of the role is achieve team objectives by balancing risk reward and implementing daily activities, whilst acting in a independent, controlled and compliant manner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting and partnering the business in order for them to achieve their strategic objectives:
1. RISK COMPLIANCE PARTNERING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provision of advice on relevant Compliance requirements and the application of the Operational Risk Framework
- Assisting with and monitoring the delivery of the companies internal procedures for AML - KYC
- Reviewing Teams operational risk and compliance events and subsequent control improvements
- Monitoring the effectiveness of compliance controls, through testing in accordance with the compliance monitoring plan
2. BUSINESS RISK MANAGEMENT
- The adequate application of the team operational risk framework and provide oversight for the Risks owned and recorded in the teams Operational Risk Portal. And contribute to the provision of timely and accurate reports to management
- Assist in the introduction of new team services or key processes by identifying regulatory compliance issues and training needs
- Ensure that any changes comply with all relevant regulations and policies including the Group risk change policy.
- Tertiary qualified in a business, financial or risk management discipline.
- Previous Operational Risk Compliance experience, with this being preferably obtained within a Banking environment
