Operational Risk and Compliance Manager
Our client is looking for an experienced operational risk and compliance professional to join their organisation and work closely with the General Legal Counsel to implement a robust operational risk framework that is fully compliant with APRA regulations. This individual will work very closely with the business units to identify the existing risk procedures, critically assess these, and manipulate and adapt these to build a business wide operational risk framework. Evidence of APRA knowledge and prudential regulations is essential in this role.
The key responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing a robust operational framework that is APRA compliant
- Work closely with the business units to implement strong risk and compliance frameworks
- Develop and maintain the risk register
- Assess and evaluate risks which may expose the business to risks
- Implement suitable internal and external risk reporting tools
- Develop a strong risk and compliance culture across the organisation
The successful candidate will possess:
- Substantial experience in operational risk framework assessment and implementation
- Detailed working knowledge of APRA and it's requirements as it applies to the business
- Knowledge in dealing with other regulatory bodies and the issues that arise from them; ASIC, AUSTRAC, among others
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build stakeholder buy-in
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong eye for detail and the ability to influence stakeholders
