Operational Risk Business Analyst recruitment

Role Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for preparing detailed business requirements for new modules for the Group Operational Risk system (ORION) and then delivery through UAT into Production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis of existing policy, existing processes (where they exist) and previous ORION documentation to gain an understanding of the business requirements

• Development of conceptual (High Level) requirements including overview of process to be captured in the system, high level work flows, initial User Roles and likely data fields

• Facilitation of workshops with business SMEs to review conceptual requirements and ensure their input is incorporated as relevant before conceptual requirements are agreed

• Develop detailed business requirements based on the agreed conceptual requirements to include detailed work flows, data dictionary, detailed user roles, statuses, high level object relationships and (where time permits) screen mockups

• Facilitation of workshop with business SMEs to review detailed business requirements and ensure their input is incorporated as relevant

• Logging of feedback on conceptual and detailed requirements including preparation of Group Operational Risk response on how feedback considered

• Preparation and discussion with business SMEs of an inventory of target reports to support the business process

• Documentation of detailed report definitions for agreed set of reports for the business process

• Develop Test Case and Support User in developing Test Cases in preparation for UAT

• Support Users during UAT, help prioritise defects and help manage UAT through to completion.

• Update User Documentation: Screen Help, User Guides, Training Materials

• Provide general ORION Support as required for new and current Users. This could include answering questions one to one, or give Demos in person or using Webex

Person Requirements:

• Previous experience of Operational Risk Framworks within a banking environment

• Previous experience of capturing business requirements for an operational risk system

• Previous experience of large scale IT Change projects

• Knowledge of the AMA approach to Operational Risk Management

• Previous experience of undertaking workshops with business SMEs

• Forward looking and business oriented

• Able to operate effectively against uncertainty and on unfamiliar ground

• Advanced oral, witten and visual communication and presentation skills

• First rate time management and organisational skills

• Ability to deliver materials of the highest quality to management against tight deadlines

• Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at senior level in the organisation

• Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and manage complexity

• Ability to chair, manage workshops, challenge views, multi-task priorities, self-motivated with can-do attitude
