This is a Shanghai based role – native Mandarin is essential (writtenspoken)

• Team management (10 subordinates – excellent established team)

• You could come from a Consumer banking business unit (or operations, finance etc)
• This business will relocate
For your application to be successful you will have a keen interest in risk frameworks and policy across Asia, the continuous improvement of these frameworks is essential for the businesses success, your passion in this space will motivate the senior stakeholders to tackle challenges with you and ensure success.
Your key responsibilities will be diverse, across;
Risk Appetite, communicate business risk appetite for country business units to Unit Operational Risk Managers
Risk identification, ensure sufficient ongoing review is being performed and country business management to review its processes and identify BAU gross operational risks
Risk Assessment and Measurement, Risk Monitoring, Risk Acceptance (where risk is not acceptable, refer to Control section), Risk Reporting, Perform periodic risk and event reporting, Risk Treatment (where residual risk is in excess of country business unit risk appetite), Policies Procedures
Stakeholder Management skills are key for this role
Qualifications Skills
- Relevant business/function experience, including experience within business/function operations
- A clear understanding of the Bank’s approach to the management of operational risk, or equivalent experience gained in other organisations
- Ability to work in a matrix organisation, leveraging resources across the organisation to complete deliverables
- The sound judgment and courage necessary to perform a control role and maintain effective working relationships
