Operational Risk Director – Deputy Head recruitment

The role of the Deputy Head of Operational Risk Manager is to assist the Global Head in executing the responsibilities of the operational risk function, assisting in the overall leadership, management and strategy of Operational Risk globally.

Working closely with the Head of Operational Risk, responsibilities will include:

Creating, developing and implementing the operational risk management agenda across the division
Driving the Operational Risk Framework roll out within the Division in close liaison with Group Operational Risk
Acting as representative of Head of Operational Risk and has authority to approve/decline items, and at key forums, committees and meetings.
Ensure that operational risk is effectively identified, managed and mitigated throughout the division across all countries of operation.
Ensure that processes operated by Operational Risk are efficient and effective in achieving their aims. These include amongst others new products, event escalation, risk assessment, significant change, and policy framework self certification.
All projects assigned to the role in the normal course of their day to day job, in particular driving the Operational Risk Framework roll out within the Division in close liaison with Group Operational Risk.

The successful candidate should have:

In depth understanding of operational risk and its implications in a financial organisation context
Solid understanding of banking and its operations
Knowledge of and experience with financial markets behaviours and products
Knowledge of regulatory requirements with respect to Operational Risk Management
Knowledge of internal control processes appropriate to a financial services organisation
