Operational Risk Manager
Our client a top tier investment bank has an urgent need for a Senior Vice President level Operational Risk Manager experienced in Asset Wealth Management arena.
Asset Wealth Management offers individuals and institutions traditional and alternative investments across all major asset classes. It also provides tailored wealth management solutions and private banking services to high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
The mission of this role is to protect the bank’s reputation by giving consideration to all of the elements of risk including local regulations and the Bank’s policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and monitoring of level one controls in UK retail business based in London
- Asset allocation
- Complaints
- Suitability
- AML/KYC
- NPA sign off
- Business Information Security
- Broader responsibilities relating to AWM legal entities and activities in the UK
- Ensure Service Level Agreements are appropriate and reviewed at regular intervals
- Ongoing interaction with support function to review performance vs SLAs
- Inventory of legal agreements signed by the entities and an inventory of legal risks
- Ensuring there is holistic entity wide (as opposed to business line only) reporting on outstanding audit points, credit risk, market risk, operational risk, legal risk, regulatory risk, liquidity risk and for any other risk category deemed appropriate
- Ensuring that mechanisms exist to confirm the company’s risks at all times fall within the Risk Appetite statement approved by the Boards
- Identify key risks within the business; monitor incidents, assessing root cause and identify risk trends
- Undertake an annual testing programme against inherent key risks that have been recognised within the Asset Wealth Management environment
You will have:
- Significant experience within the finance industry, focusing on risk management ideally within wealth or asset management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate at all levels across our organisation.
- Working knowledge of Banking, Securities Funds processing
- Advanced analytical / MI skills, with extensive excel knowledge
