Operational Risk Manager – Credit Risk recruitment

Based in Glasgow, my client is a leading Wealth Management business with its operational hub serving as a global centre of excellence. Continued near-shoring of roles from Global locations continues to create opportunity within the Bank.

Due to a promotion within the London operation, a role at Assistant Vice President (Credit Risk AVP or Operational Risk - Credit AVP) has become available in the Glasgow office. Supporting the global Credit Risk team, you will have responsibility for ensuring policies, frameworks and procedures are adhered to, whilst allowing Global Credit Risk to operate in a commercial manner.

The roles involves:

- Credit risk policy, new product sign off (from a risk appetite perspective), involvement of appetite discussions on new products, control governance for global credit risk (sanctioning) team.
- The control governance element will include (for example) policy testing, risk and control assessments, risk investigations following alerts and leading the co-ordination of internal audits within global credit risk
- Working in a team of 4, you will work with a peer AVP, supporting a VP, reporting ultimately to a director.

Credit risk knowledge is preferred, supplemented with some policy / procedure / framework experience. Equally, my client would consider Internal Auditors or Operational Risk candidates, but you would need to have touched upon credit risk at least somewhere along the line, and must have policy writing experience. Credit Sanctioners will also be considered if they had strong policy experience.
