Operational Risk Manager

12 Month FTC (Fixed Term contract)
Location: Dublin
Salary: 60k-70k

A leading global bank requires an Operational Risk Manager to join their expanding team.

Role Purpose:

To support the Head of Business Risk Control Management in providing risk management support to all areas within the group.
To ensure the risk governance and assurance activities are maintained and enhanced
To ensure the Internal Control Monitoring Plan, as approved by the Board of Directors is performed within the required timescale.
To adhere to Group policies for operational risk.
The job holder will be required to keep abreast of risk matters that may have a direct (financial) or indirect (client, regulatory, reputational) impact on the business

Responsibilities:

Assistance in the development and maintenance of Groups Operational Risk Framework, the identification and management of operational risk.
To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
Operational risk support on strategy and product planning, new product development, transformation, business process re-engineering and all material changes impacting the business.
Provision of operational risk support, advice and guidance to ensure appropriate operating procedures and controls are in place.
To maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external auditors.

Skills:

A number of years experience in a risk, operational risk or audit role or equivalent experience in the financial services industry, preferably relating to fund administration and custody, of which two should be at assistant manager or equivalent level.
Strong commercial awareness of the financial drivers and risk activities of a securities services operation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail;
Ability to work as part of a team
Determined self motivated individual
Relevant business/accounting degree or equivalent
