Operational Risk MI Analyst/Manager

Overview:

A global American bank is seeking an operational risk specialist with strong excel skills to help manage large sets of MI. This is an initial 4 months contract with the potential to extend; we require someone to start ASAP.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for the production of standardised metrics and KRIs to support the CIB regulatory report recertification process
• Responsible for the analysis of the results from the regulatory report risk assessments and the production of summaries for stakeholders
• Identify and implement improvements to the current processes to reduce the time required for the generation of metrics and results analysis
• Manage the requirements of the LOB, regional and senior stakeholders
• Partner with MIS technology teams to produce detailed business requirements for moving the current processes away from Excel to strategic platforms

Key Skills/Qualifications:

• Candidate should have background in banking, with a strong understanding of the products and markets in which the CIB operate
• Ideally come from a line background and be able to demonstrate product knowledge in at least one asset class including the trade lifecycle from risk management platforms through to settlement and confirmation functions
• Experience of working in controls roles
• Ability to work independently from high level briefs
• Advanced Excel skills required including VBA
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail imperative
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex issues
• Able to liaise with senior management, reporting on project milestones, key deliverables and obtaining key stakeholder sign off
• Have an appreciation of Regulatory Reporting and be comfortable in critiquing design and control requirements
• Ability to interpret issues raised then prioritise and communicate to senior management and other key stakeholders regarding resolution plans and expectations
• Team player with ability to build maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and across functions in a collaborative manner in order to achieve results
• Able to operate globally across regions, businesses and functions with demonstrable strong negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills to drive delivery across a variety of teams
• Excellent organization planning skills
• Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard whilst under pressure
