Operational Risk Monitoring Manager for Leading Global Bank
Key Duties:
Deliver assigned elements of the operational risk monitoring plan
Responsible for the planning, fieldwork and reporting for designated monitoring reviews for the areas assigned under the plan, in line with agreed timescales
Identify all the key internal operational risks within each business unit, function and/or product that are assigned for review and assess the effectiveness of the control environment
Recommend changes to controls and procedures where these are not sufficient to mitigate underlying risks
Produce high quality written reports providing assessment of overall operational risk management within the areas under review, in line with agreed time frames
Ensure all issues raised are clearly articulated, agreed with the relevant business management and workable action plans agreed
Monitor the progress required to close issues raised during monitoring reviews
Review closed issues to ensure that any new arrangements put in place are proving sustainable
Provide specialist operational risk consultancy and advice, where appropriate, for the business in relation to new products, projects, policies, procedures and emerging operational risk themes
Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with key business stakeholders as assigned by line manager
Provide Operational Risk awareness and advice for Business Representatives
Experience Requirements:
- Breadth of business experience across banking front, middle and back office functions
- Process mapping and redesign
- Building relationships at all organisational levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPractical knowledge of Operational Risk Management in a financial services environment
