Operational Risk Senior Analyst
This major Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf is seeking to hire a senior operational risk analyst to add strength and depth to their successful team. This person will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the risk framework combined with a reporting and analytics focus. The role will be focussed around capital markets so Investment banking knowledge is absolutely essential. Specific product knowledge is not vital.
The key value proposition of this role is that it is not a traditional reporting role. You will be expected to develop relationships with the business and be an active member of the team during this period of change as Business Objects is implemented. It is a fantastic opportunity to combine relationship management with reporting and analytics, and drive this business unit forward
Responsibilities:
- Establishing strong relationships with stakeholder in the front office environment to gain clear understanding of the Operational Risks.
- Producing useful and effective Operational Risk Management Information .
- Measurement and Operational Risk Capital calculation processes, including enhancements to the Key Risk Scenario process and capital calculation / allocation.
- Managing the preparation of MI reporting and Committee packs on an as required basis.
- Ensure, by keeping up to date, an ongoing understanding of regulatory and risk initiatives and the implications to the operational risk management framework (including Basel 3).
- Own, manage and deliver special projects relating to Operational Risk as they arise. This may include development of new business areas and products.
- Assist in team management and development, together with direct management of virtual teams as required for ad hoc projects.
You will have
- Good academic background educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Experience in working within the financial services sector. Good product experience relevant to CIB.
- Solid risk / control-oriented background, especially as a risk manager, auditor, or consultant.
- Demonstrated ability in ensuring a control environment. Operational risk capital and analytical experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to quickly establish strong and credible working relationships with different internal groups.
- Some knowledge of Business Objects
