Operational Risk & Supervision VP Global Markets recruitment

Based in London the role requires the protagonist to build relationships across Front Office risk and COO officers. 

The Operational Risk Management Supervision team is part of the Central Management and reports through to the Chief Administrative Officer. The Supervision team is responsible for a variety of programs which support the full range of Sales and Trading, coverage, advisory and banking businesses. You will test the existing operational and supervisory structures and report findings, maintain written supervisory procedures for the product lines working closely with operational risk officers, business managers and Compliance to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect the underlying controls and support the development of the escalation program from operational areas to front office supervisors and product line risk officers.

Specifically, the team manages the policies, practices and technology that comprise the division’s supervision framework. The Team’s goal is to ensure transparency, appropriate supervisory tools and metrics are available to Supervisors, COOs and senior management. The Supervision team consists of specialized professionals who are responsible to maintain and continually enhance this robust supervision framework and its underlying processes. 

Key Responsibilities:

The role requires pro-active management and development of the supervision tools and procedures to ensure the robustness of the control environment. This objective is achieved by building a strong relationships operational risk officers, COOs as well as utilising support from Compliance and local Control and Support Groups.

The successful candidate will have:

• Demonstrable experience in Supervision, Operational Risk Management or internal control function

• A good understanding of regulatory and supervision standards and requirements including experience of working with key risk indicators, performance metrics, and multiple data sets.

• A strong understanding of investment banking products, processes and the associated controls

• An ability to remain objective and to independently raise areas of risk exposure
