Operational Risk-Systems
An opportunity has arisen within one of our banking clients to play a key role in the continued high performance of the IT Platform that is fundamental to the Operational Risk framework of the bank.
Our client is seeking an experienced Operational Risk professional with systems expertise to join at VP level.
You will be working closely with the specific area of the bank’s Operational Risk team, Group Operational risk and the Systems manufacturer.
Your specific responsibilities will be:-
- Manage relationships with the Business, Operational Risk Technology, Operational Risk Managers, and Group Operational Risk (GOR)
- Liaising with relevant parties regarding system changes
- Determine the change requests and reports identified as priority for action, through consideration of cost vs benefit, and seek approval through GOR.
- Develop requirements documents and business cases as required for system changes.
- Work with GOR to execute system upgrades from the software provider (includes minor upgrades and major releases which occur every 18mths – 24mths).
- Provide input into the ongoing enhancement / development of the systems training that forms part of the broader OpRisk Management Framework training.
- Represent the bank at global (annual) industry forums.
- Continue to maintain open dialogue / relationship with GOR and the system vendor, including to understand product roadmap and pending implications for the bank
- Develop and maintain performance metrics relating to use of the system for reporting to the GOR team.
You will have:-
- 6-8 years experience in Operational Risk/Related Systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of managing an Operational Risk platform and handling the changes across system incorporating the business and the IT supplier
