Operational Risk VP Needed for leading IB recruitment
Operational Risk Manager required performing an oversight role within the financial markets division of a global banking organisation. This role will sit within the European team with interaction with other relevant global colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS
• Assist in the roll out of Operational Risk Best Practice for Global Markets across all regions.
• Product Knowledge across all asset classes within the financial markets.
• The incumbent will support senior management in the identification, quantification and management of Operational Risks.
• Engage in change management initiatives, independent reviews and provide assurance that operational controls are effectively operated.
• The function works with senior business heads and business managers within the front office staff to ensure effective control is being carried out.
• In addition you will provide oversight of new products and processes.
• Other key relationships will involve other individuals and teams associated with internal controls.
Experience
- At least 6 years’ experience within Operational / Business Risk Management or Internal Audit role within a Global Markets environment or 6+ years’ experience in investment banking advisory work with a top-tier consulting firm.
- ACA qualified and/or strong finance product control knowledge preferred. Market Risk background as a preference
- A good knowledge of the control environment surrounding Global Markets products and a general level of understanding of key Global Markets products
- Would suit someone who is keen to gain active involvement in developing a relatively new function and be able to provide active input and ideas of how best to embed an evolving methodology.
- Candidate would need excellent inter-personal, communication and influencing skills and confidence to deal with senior staff to sell the benefits of OR management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
