Qualifications:
This position will be primarily responsible for supporting the complex and challenging operations/financial analysis requirements of the Siding Products Group (SPG) FiberCement Division (FCD), including all SPG Lines of Business (Vinyl Siding, Polymer Shakes and Restoration Millwork, Fence, Rail Decking Polymer). This function is required to provide timely, accurate value-added information to management that is essential to effective decision making. It is expected to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations as a financial advisor to the Plant Controllers, Plant Managers and VP of Manufacturing. Operational performance evaluation will be a routine requirement of the position. This position is expected to deliver the detailed level of support for the Group that will enable management for this division to provide effective decision support and strategic goal setting as integral advisors to their respective divisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform cost and operating variance analysis for $600 M Siding Products Group/FiberCement Division
•Review and monitor the manufacturing performance during the month
•Prepare variance analyses, link to causes, and follow through on corrective actions with those responsible
•Identify variance trends for plants’ efficiency and profitability improvement opportunities. Work with VP of MFG and Plant Controllers to identify best practices and recommend and implement required actions across SPG
•Maintain primary responsibility for accurate inventory costing and valuation throughout the year
•Maintain and analyze product standard costs across plants (Initial Std setting remains responsibility of PC)
•Analyze and optimize plant variable costs
•Assist with timely inventory and accrual reconciliations monthly
•Oversee inventory cycle count program
•Analyze financial impact of current and proposed actions as directed by Group Controller, VP MFG, Managers of Analysis or Plants
•New product costing and plant cost reduction programs
•Capital appropriations request justifications
•Ad hoc financial analysis and monthly reporting and commentary on operations results
•Additional Responsibilities (20%)
•Analyze financial results, identify performance issues and proactively initiate analyses and solutions
•Participate in the month-end financial close
•Ensure compliance with SGC and SPG policies and procedures
•Effectively fill in as back-up Plant Controller when required
Knowledge:
•Quickly and accurately analyzes and responds to financial analysis and cost accounting questions
•Solves problems with business acumen, strong analytical skills, creative thinking and innovation
•Demonstrates IT proficiency (ERP, database, Excel, PowerPoint); uses to analyze improve processes
•Communicates and makes presentations clearly and concisely
•Manages multiple simultaneous priorities and projects; works independently with minimal direction
•BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; 3-5 years experience (ideally manufacturing)
•Proficient in management accounting, cost and inventory accounting and financial analysis
•Maintains technical proficiency through education and training
•Has excellent interpersonal / relationship building skills; effective process improvement team member
•Demonstrates high client service orientation
•Evidences high work intensity and productivity
•Willing to travel up to 25%
