Operations Architect recruitment

The IB Operations Architect is responsible for:
- Producing the architecture target states, baseline, and roadmaps for Operations IT; working with other architects, business management, and IT management
- Proving technical and application innovation through developing working solutions, and then championing their adoption
- Producing responses to IT planning and investment governance requests
- Building virtual teams and communities to support alignment of architectures and delivery efforts
- Work with software delivery teams to provide governance of solutions, to identify convergence opportunities and to align delivery roadmaps and portfolios with target architectures

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- An ability to clearly articulate architectural vision and priority, and a track record of bringing teams together 
- Experience of producing documents, models, and presentations to convey complex architectures to diverse stakeholders
- A proven record of stakeholder management with senior business management and development teams
- Domain experience in middle office or operations within investment banking, fund management, or market infrastructure
- Experience of working closely with management or operational staff in financial services
- A proven track record in technology leadership and working with successful delivery programmes spanning business divisions, globallyThe successful candidate will demonstrate:

Key skills required in this role include:
- A good knowledge of structured analysis and design techniques, including good experience of process and data modelling, such as expertise in IDEF, BPMN, UML or Archimate
- Experience of rules programming or XQuery, such as CEP or MarkLogic
- A background in software development in Java
- An ability to influence, persuade and to gain support for ideas, strategies and decisions at all levels of the organisation – and an ability to deal with conflict situations
- An ability to think functionally without losing sight of the technical realities of delivery, and to ensure architectures and roadmaps are pragmatic, deliverable and sound

Optional skills, not required, that may be useful in the role:
- ISO 20022/SWIFT, FIX, FpML
- Functional programming experience such as Scala, Haskell, or F#

This role is suitable for someone who wishes to gain experience in planning and enterprise architecture, while still retaining a hands on technology role.
