Following demand from clients, we are about to start a 5 – 6 months project with one of our Banking clients in the area of high risk customer analysis.
The project is based in Belfast.
The purpose of this role is to carry out enhanced due diligence (EDD) on new and existing high risk customer entities and individuals including politically exposed persons (PEP) relationships
Area of Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the AML Central Support Team achieves its targets for regulatory compliance
• Provide advice, guidance and training to less experienced colleagues
• Respond to helpdesk queries from the Frontline, providing advice and guidance
• Ensure that PEP/high risk markers have been applied to customer records on the back office system as appropriate
• Subject new high AML risk cases to full AML risk assessment by carrying out enhanced due diligence checks and preparing high risk customer files in accordance with RBS AML/STF policy and UBG operating procedures
• Process periodic reviews for high risk customers and carry out event driven reviews that result from AML triggers and alerts
• Remediate existing high risk customer records
• Performing other tasks as directed by the Team Manager and according to operational needs
- Experience of working in a retail or corporate banking environment
- An understanding of AML STF regulations
- Understanding of banking, corporate and financial terminology
- Knowledge of the range of different customer entity types e.g. sole traders, corporate bodies, partnerships, trusts, limited companies etc.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high quality work to deadlines
- Well-developed interpersonal written skills
- Good computer skills and ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of products
The below skills would be an advantage but are not necessary to be successful:
- Experience of working in an AML/risk environment
- Call handing/customer advisory experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
- 3rd level qualification or specific AML qualification
This initial 5 – 6 months contract may be extended by another six months and may at a later point lead to further career progression within Cognizant.
