Position Description:
Morgan Stanley China Bank Operation team provides operational
support to Sales Trading business and Core Banking business
from Beijing and Zhuhai office. We currently have an operning for
an associate within sales trading operations based in
Beijing. The team is responsible for providing support to various
banking products traded by the business unit, which includes FX,
money market, Bond, Repo, options, futures, Interest Rate Swap and
other exotic FX/interest features embedded transactions. The key
functions covered by the team include trade capture, settlement,
local regulatory reporting, confirmation and other process control
activities. The team works closely with trading, treasury,
compliance and bank management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide day-to-day operational support to business unit in
accurate and timely manner - trade capture/settlement processing;
trade confirmation processing; perform P/L Calculation and mismatch
follow up;
-Perform daily control activities such as internal
system/inter-desk/nosto/depot reconciliation considering the high
risk embedded to banking operations and exceptional trade control
required by regulatory concern;
-Respond to enquiries from traders and other departments; and work
with others to resolve any complex problems;
-Prepare and peform controls related to Daily/Monthly/Quarterly
regulatory reporting requirements within sales and trading
operations;
-Ensure the processing is in compliance with the firm policy and
local regulations
-Work with IT and regional counterparts on system enhancements to
streamline exisitng operational processes; and contribute to the
continuous improvement of control environments in the team
-Work with relevant parties to determine the support model and
necessary controls on new products traded by the firm
Skills Required:
-Bachelor degree
-3 to 5 years of relevant experience in supporting sales and
trading business; solid knowledge on P/L calculation, local
regulations and market practices
-Ability to identify problems as they arise and understand when
these need to be escalated, good problem solving skills are a
necessity
-High personal commitment and integrity; able to drive new
initiatives and put forward new ideas
-Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment, able to
maintain composure while remain assertive when dealing with complex
problem
-Good communication and organizational skill, able to interact and
work effectively across functional/locations in multiple tasks;
-High sense of risk awareness and good understanding of the local
regulations, able to articulate and identify risk issues
