Operations Control Unit Analyst recruitment
Department
The Control Unit sits within the Operations Control department. The Control Unit acts as an independent control function responsible for the definition and oversight of Operations Division control framework indentifying and managing control gaps associated with Operations processes and systems.
The principle focus of the team is to build and maintain a consistent global framework and independent review of existing and new processes/business, development of the control environment in line with business initiatives and product complexity.
Role
Assist in the management of the sign off of New Products and Business Change for Operations ensuring any potential impact on Operations highlighted any associated risk or control issues are tracked and monitored via the caveat process or resolved prior to sign off
• Collaborate with relevant Operations teams to obtain an full understanding of the Balance Sheet Substantiation process, assisting in the monthly sample testing process, highlighting issues accordingly
• Provide oversight of Cash Reconciliation control functions performed in Mumbai identifying issues and escalating where necessary
• Monitoring and identify the impact of IT incidents on Operations, highlighting issues accordingly and suggesting actions plans for resolution
• Promote a culture of control awareness through effective communication and education
Skills and Experience
- Diverse product knowledge covering Equities, Fixed Income and Prime traded instruments
- Understanding of operational processes and products and any associate risk and control issues
- Solid Operations Control background with a proven track record for enhancement
- Self motivated and highly organised
- Strong communication skills across levels of the organisation
- Proven problems solving skills
- Strong time management skills, deadline driven
