Operations Development Manager Job in Basingstoke, Southern UK

Salary: up to £42,000 per annum + bonus
The Role
Reporting to the Cash Centre Manager, this non-departmental, but senior management role will be responsible for the overall development, improvement and coordination of operational processes and functions across the Centre. Play a pivotal role in delivering the Centres objectives in line with the company Business Line Objectives.
Working closely with the Departmental Managers, this role will ensure delivery, compliance and effectiveness across all operational processes, developing and delivering against plans to optimise performance, stability and efficiency.
Key Tasks
- Identify, set and monitor improvements/cost savings
- Continually build up and gain knowledge of the Centre’s finances and reports
- Communications – coordinate standard communication processes and reporting internally and externally (reports, briefings, visual measurement systems) linking effectively to the Central teams
- Ensure the operational areas and staff are in adherence to the company health and safety policy and legislation. Health Safety Coordination – regulations, communications, inspections, risk assessments and self auditing
- Develop succession plans and ensure they are kept up to date
- All paid claims to be investigated and root cause established. Follow up with containment actions and review
- Monitor all KPI’s and produce corrective action plans to correct under performance
- Drive the delivery of best practice and improvements in cost, service and delivery
- Plan staff resources to satisfy the operational requirements of each department/shift
- Key costs monitoring and process control (direct labour, direct costs, cash losses and overheads) and revenue confirmations
- Management of the Centre’s capital equipment processes – to deliver effective repair, replacement, calibration and maintenance scheduling
- Uphold the adherence to the T card self audit process ensuring all areas are procedurally compliant and robust audit trails are maintained
- Potential for cross-coverage requirements in respect to other members of the management team (holidays, absence, training) also to support site flexibility, stand-in responsibilities, and succession planning
- Ensure customer funds are secure and all balances held match the customer Daily Balance Certificate (DBC)
- Ensure the cycle of CP12 cash checks are both carried out within the required timescales and any balance differences are investigated, reported and reconciled
Key Skills
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement/Lean methodologies, minimum Green belt standard.
- Ability to define, measure and analyse processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and manage the project to verifiable completion.
- Budgetary (PL) capability and experience.
- Line Management experience – with the ability to engender a strong team ethic amongst direct reports and colleagues.
- Ability to self audit and drive compliance through others with a regulated environment
- Numerate with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel and Access knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Checkable 10 year employment/unemployment/educational history.
- An understanding and familiarity with cash processing or financial operations would be advantageous or alternatively a knowledge of modern manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrable managerial experience in an operational environment - requiring on-time, on-quality, on-cost, delivery of service.
- Able to accept responsibility and make decisions appropriate to the level of the role.
- An ability to display absolute integrity and trust as required by the nature of the business and processes undertaken.
