Our Hatfield Peverel Dairy currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Director. The role reports to the Senior Operations Director - South and is the No. 1 on site. The Operations Director will lead the site operations and management team in developing and implementing the site business plan and contributing to the delivery of the Arla Foods business goals. The site is a 24/7 operation and currently has c300 staff.
Key responsibilities of the Operations Director role involve efficiencies through continuous improvement and enhanced performance in line with the Company's strategy and Must Win Battles. The role-holder will have full accountability for the site PL account and follow a pro-active industrial and employee relations agenda. The ability to develop people, identify talent and succession plan will be fundamental. You will ensure compliance with company, customer and legal standards, participate in developing supply chain business plans and develop the site CAPEX proposal with demonstrated ROI analysis. As a strong leader of people you will lead, coach, manage and develop the site management team and progress talent.
To be successful in the Operations Director role you will communicate and implement business goals through your site management team, develop and manage site budgets and lead and drive change that affects the site. Your ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders is key to your success as is the development of site business plans and the prioritisation of goals and activities. We are seeking candidates with a background in Dairy or FMCG Food manufacturing, though we will consider other manufacturing experience. Extensive experience of working in a unionised environment is essential. You will be Degree qualified with proven experience gained from within a similar role. The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing people and change within an FMCG environment and will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
