Summary

To direct the provision of an effective operations function within the Company. This primarily involves leading the Clearing and Settlement, Client Support and Risk functions together with oversight of IT operations with the Group Head of IT. Synonymous with Chief Operating Officer (COO) title.

Description

ROLE

To lead the main service and technical functions of the Company.

To interface with customers and Senior Management to meet the objectives set by the Board in compliance with regulatory and budgetary requirements.

OBJECTIVE

To direct the provision of an effective operations function within the Company. This primarily involves leading the Clearing and Settlement, Client Support and Risk functions for the Company together with oversight of IT operation with Group Head of IT.

The Operations Director will provide leadership for these functions and will ensure that appropriate policies are in place for the effective management of these functions.

Requirements

Knowledge and Functional Skills

• Commodity and Financial Futures and Options Industry knowledge and experience

• Clearing systems and procedures

• Good IT awareness and knowledge

• Previous experience of Operational Risk including Risk Assessment Policies

• Regulatory Experience (suitably authorised individual)

• Business experience of dealing with suppliers and customers

• Positive personal approach which gives confidence

• Contributor at Board and committee level to analysis and development of business
