Operations Division Executive, Investment Management Services recruitment

The Ops Division Executive – IMS is a senior level position responsible for oversight of the IMS division within the Operations line of business, impacting multiple disciplines, processes and/or locations. S/he may manage more than one department. S/he directly contributes to and influences broad lines of business by developing specific strategy and priorities for a division, ensuring its execution is in alignment with business goals. These policy and strategic decisions impact multiple lines of business and/or significant functions.  His/her function represents a significant portion of line of business revenues or budgeted expenses.  In conjunction with the AHO, the Division Executive is responsible for developing a budget and business plan aligned to LOB and firm goals. Working with peers, MDs and Partners, the Division Executive manages the execution of complex issues and/or high risk and exposure items that significantly impact both LOB and BBH.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for middle office support  of business operations for the Investment Wealth Management line of business, domestically.
- Ensure the smooth, effective operation of the department which includes proper product delivery, proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper balance of cost, control and client service (3Cs), and maintaining proper standards and controls
- Develop, maintain and achieve an integrated Business Plan for the department, aligning organizational structure, systems priorities, management reporting, and job descriptions in support of business goals and objectives. Establishes budget in accordance to these business goals.    
- Ensure training and development plans exist for all employees, which includes effective goal setting. 
- Develop a succession plan for each direct report. 
- Focus on developing a qualified successor(s). 
- Ensure that the management team is properly aligned with the division strategy, goals, and objectives and has the information and tools necessary to progress.   
- Develop and maintain a culture of results-oriented, continuous, process improvement which includes developing and achieving leap goals, challenging all processes, procedures and practices, focusing on solutions (not “good reasons”), and keeping abreast of new technologies and applications and their implications for the department.   
-   Brings together multiple concepts across disciplines or functions to define a new direction or significantly advance processes, systems and products/services
- Manages communication of strategic importance, routinely advising senior leadership to reach agreement.
Management and Sales team.
- Lead department by setting high standards, providing a thoughtful approach, having a committed attitude, and by being an effective representative of BBH Operations.
- Assist business lines in the development of new service models and new opportunities for BBH. 
- Build and foster effective and productive relationships with peers within and outside of the division to achieve results, improve service and solve problems.

Represents IMS during client visits, walkthroughs and other sales and client retention activities. 
- Build and foster effective and productive relationships with peers across business lines.
- Finds opportunities to expand BBH relationships and enhance the client experience.
- Ensure standard suite of products is competitive, strategic, well defined and critical to our clients.
- Identifies trends and assess capabilities of BBH to meet market requirements.

Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry working with custodians and/or Investment Management Operations managers
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Must have experience with and/or good understanding of Trust business and Trust Accounting
- Strong understanding of Custody Operations
- Well versed in the Investment Management business, trading and operations flows, systems architecture, settlement automation and STP (straight through processing)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally with operations, finance, brokers, and custodians
- Able to make complex decisions
