Operations Executive, Base metal recruitment
Responsibility:
- Working closely with traders
- Reviewing and preparing sales and purchase contracts.
- Sending contract to counterparties and ensuring confirmation or acknowledgement received from them.
- Handle and manage shipping documents (including b/l, proforma and commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of weight and quality and insurance.)
- Co-ordinate with shipping lines and warehouse for loading and unloading of agricultural
- Arranging for payments to suppliers and relevant parties.
- Updating cargo list and keeping track of cargoes for each vessel by customer basis.
- Filing of shipping documents and email correspondences into cargo files.
- Making payment for charges relating to LC advising, BL fees and others.
- Liaise with accounts department for processing of bills payments.
- Other duties assigned on ad-hoc basis.
Candidate requirements:
- minimum 3 years of relevant experience working in a major commodity firm and / or bank
- Finance background - There is significant focus on control so front to back trade lifecycle knowledge is an advantage, from trade entry through to general ledger.
- Commodities knowledge of shipping, logistics, scheduling and dry bulk freight practices.
- Detailed exposure to letters of credit and associated shipping documentation for a physical transport business is vital to the role.
- Strong understanding of a trading business and the functions performed by trade support.
