Operations Executive (Metals)
The Company
Client is a global commodity trading company.
The Role
The Metal Operations Executive will be required to co-ordinate on issuance of contracts, preparing sales contract drafts for issuance and checking both purchase and sales contracts.
You will co-ordinate on timely issuance of L/Cs, checking L/C is issued as per terms agreed in trade and co-ordinate with suppliers, receivers and service providers. You will be liaising with Chartering team to ensure timely fixing of bulk vessel and send vessel nomination to receiver for his confirmation for bulk shipments.
You will administer, communicate co-ordinate all delivery and shipment related activities with warehouses, freight forwarders and shipping lines or Charterers.
You will check and forward full set of documents submitted to receiver, checking and arranging payments for vendor invoices, insuring cargoes while observing incoterms and handling claims by mediating and coordination with all parties involved.
You will also assist to arrange surveyors for inspection, be responsible to apply credit approval, liaising closely with credit team and making sure credit insurance is in place.
You will maintain and instil close communication with overseas offices, to manage cost templates, ensuring all income and costs are reflected or accounted for.
Your Profile
The successful candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience within Metal Operations. You will have a basic knowledge of commodities physical trading with good understanding for operations, fixing of bulk vessels and chartering.
You will be familiar with demurrage and detention calculation, basic understanding of credit and finance. You will need to be proactive to liaise with Traders and other departments to get the job done in an efficient and effective manner.
You would have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a multi cultural and fast paced environment.
