Operations Graduate recruitment

General Responsibilities:

Develop a thorough understanding of all the areas of Operations Processing. Use initiative to learn about all other areas of Operations
Develop an understanding of regulatory and market practice, in particular the area of operational risk
Develop a thorough understanding of Ruffer as a Firm and in particular how this impacts on the operations team
Identify ways to improve operational processes and methodology to automate and increase efficiency of associated tasks
Maintain full and proper record keeping, including accurate and complete procedures.
Project based work, such as assisting with technological developments including input, their testing and implementation

Specific Responsibilities will rotate between:

Trade Processing: Ensure all trades are matched, instructed for settlement, enriched and booked correctly within relevant timescales
Income: Manage accruals, capture and process client’s income and dividends
Reporting: Assist in the production of monthly performance and quarterly client valuations, the associated procedures pre post production
Corporate Actions: Manage capture of event announcement, investment manager election and timely execution of Corporate Actions for the firm client base
Payments: Ensure Front Office/Client requests for payment are completed effectively and enable scheduled client payments to be processed efficiently
Project and Development Duties: Assistance in and identification of areas for development for multiple team wide enhancements, developments and initiatives, as identified and distributed by the department manager

Other duties:

Study towards the CISI IOC
Maintain procedures for the all job related areas and checklist completion for designated tasks
Maintain high standards of diligence and accuracy at all times
Maintain basic relevant competencies, such as attention to detail, planning, organising, etc
Overflow and holiday cover for other Operations Analysts
Anything else that may be reasonably requested
Specific responsibilities may change periodically around the team or other teams in Operations
