Operations Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Plan purchases of ICM items using future sales analysis, past usage reports, and other inventory management techniques as appropriate.

2.      Performs and maintains all data setup in ERP/PLM systems for CPI manufactured products.

3.      Conducts or oversees all on site Quality Assessments and Inspections including First Article Inspections (FAI).

4.      Provides Quality Assurance training as required to ICM staff members in accordance with CPI Global Quality Standards.

5.      Manages all outbound Logistics functions from ICM and supplier locations including the qualification, selection, and contract management processes.

6.      Performs final disposition and processing for all ICM customer returns.

7.      Develop, maintain, and distribute the Performance Metrics report for assigned ICMs.

8.      Monitor sales activity and work with ICMs in establishing recommended stocking levels.

9.      Main point of contact with CPI customer service for ICM related issues.

10.  Communicates regularly with ICM partners and strategic sources to insure on time delivery and adequate availability of materials.

11.  Negotiates international direct and in-direct purchase agreements with strategic suppliers.

12.  Identify cost reduction opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiation, and design changes. 

13.  Evaluate suppliers and provide feedback to improve performance especially in the areas of lead-time, on-time delivery, delivered cost, terms, and quality.

14.  Develop and maintain long term relationships with strategic ICMs and supply chain partners such that we are viewed as an excellent customer worthy of preferential treatment.

15.  Develop a sense of part ownership that includes concern for inventory accuracy and inventory obsolescence and the ability to anticipate potential problems.

16.  Participates on various cross functional sourcing projects (International and Domestic).

17.  Performs numerous analytical projects relating to material cost, product flow, inventory levels, gross margin analysis, make vs. buy analysis, and global supply chain.

18.  Develops supplier selection, audit, and development programs.

19.  Interfaces with CPI Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Customer Service, and ICM Operations staff on issues impacting orders, design, logistics, and inventory management.

20.  Coordinate product launch programs with International Product Management and ICMs.

21.  Manages the operational, tactical and strategic aspects of both inbound and outbound international freight movements.

22.  Directs and manages the RFP/provider selection process, the negotiation of pricing agreements, the maintenance of approved carrier and customs broker lists and the management of the on-going relationship with strategic providers.

23.  Directs the gathering of the necessary data required for benchmarking, cost analysis, compliance reporting, logistics related infrastructure development and pricing negotiations.  Communicates recommendations based on information derived from benchmark information.

24.  Establishes in region transportation policies for the company in conjunction with other company departments, disseminates these policies to the departments and directs and manages the process of controlling compliance with these policies.

25.  Stays informed of, and effectively communicates the impact of transportation, customs and security related regulations and proposed regulatory changes, when appropriate. Monitors regulatory activity of agencies such as the STB, Homeland Security, DOT, IATA and monitors carrier activity within NCC and other carrier rate making organizations.

26.  Assists and directs the divisions in preparing documents pertaining to importing and exporting and in processing Customs requests for information, NAFTA verifications and duty drawbacks.

27.  Actively participates in corporate operations projects and supply chain initiatives.

28.  Leads and manages Trade Compliance requirements for shipments to all locations outside of North America.

29.  Assists in the development and implementation of Global transportation and logistics policies and procedures.
