Operations Manager – Hedge Fund

Heading up a team of three your role is to offer a broad remit. You are expected to closely manage the team and develop them in to a strong operations / middle office function as the team members are relatively junior. You are also expected to get your hands dirty as the demands placed on the team are high particularly at times where volumes are high or when members of the team are away. Crucially you are the face of what is being produced by the function and are to face off with all areas of the business in high level discussions including sitting in on the risk committee meeting. Whilst you have a number of stakeholders, the key players are the PM’s, the CRO and the COO (who you report in to). The fund is going through a period of developing its systems, processes and procedures and whilst there is a specialist leading this you would also be key in driving these projects.

The role offers great growth potential given where the fund is at currently (they only launched a few years ago). It is a great time to join and you have the opportunity to build out a larger function with a wider middle office remit. For this role we require candidates from an operations background in either hedge funds or asset management. You should have managed people previously and would ideally be working at a small organisation currently. It is also important that you know how and what the consequences of importing and exporting incorrect data would mean and how to resolve it, so effectively IT file / data management skills are preferred.

The base salary can’t exceed 60k. They are built around a strong bonus culture, hence the more modest base but the particularly attractive total compensation package available.
