Operations Manager Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada

We are currently seeking dedicated Operations Manager with a strong business aptitude in managing budgets, onsite project scope and people management skills ensuring the Company’s operations are safe and reliable. The Operations Manager will work out of the Edmonton area managing the industrial trades groups for various remote client site/projects. Qualified candidates must be technically inclined with a industrial/site background.

Responsibilities
Coordinate a team of employees as they perform work during shift rotations
Develop detailed work plans for operations personnel during shift rotations
Build key relationships with various levels of employees
Ability to travel to site
Maintains a culture of accountability
Leads and demonstrates a workplace of professionalism and respect
Continuing the development of client base and volume in support of the Company's overall objectives and policies and procedures strategies
Ensuring all the appropriate stakeholders are informed of any schedule deviations that could delay completion of the project
Identifying opportunities for continued future projects and business development
Participating in the selection of construction personnel for new projects
Having appropriate number of employees available to work on new projects in keeping with budget guidelines
Assigning appropriate resources in order for the successful completion of each assigned project
Participating in Job Start Up and Close Out Meetings of each project to evaluate the respective strategy and execution
Ensuring each project is on time, safety standards are upheld, budget is met and quality of work is checked against standards
Being responsible to the overall culture and ensuring all employees under your care and control
Conducting the annual performance appraisals for your team
Participating actively in management meetings; take on special projects/assignments as required
Bringing forth issues and opportunities for discussion and review; provide updates as requested
Reviewing all information submitted from direct reports containing updates on progress of project, schedule, expenses, manpower and other incidents
Maintaining the profit margin of each job assigned
Reviewing each tender that was compiled by the Estimator to ensure that the figures are reasonable and that the profit margin will be maintained
Reviewing each project bid when completed for accuracy of budgets to ensure that figures have been appropriately determined/predicted and result in competitive bid

Qualifications
Minimum of 10 or more years of Construction experience
Post secondary education in trades, project management or related
Experience working with a project management background
Strong leadership skills with strong management and motivational skills
Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
Experience working with oil and gas Health Safety programs and processes
Candidates must have strong computer, communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
