We are currently seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to join our Bally Manufacturing Engineering department.
Summary:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for Bally Technologies' Process Engineering, Process Design and Improvement (PDI) team, and the Training Department. This manager will ensure new designs are smoothly transitioned from design engineering to process engineering and manufacturing. This is a key role in the organization that provides support for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Duties:
The person in this position ensures new products, parts, designs, and process improvements are smoothly transitioned from concept to launch. This includes consideration for how the products will be manufactured, shipped, serviced, and meet regulatory requirements. Quality is a key aspect to our production system, and this manager will ensure new products can be produced efficiently and with perfect quality.
This role is a key lean manufacturing driver in Bally. The manager will help drive 6S discipline, kaizen activity, process mapping (both value stream and transactional), 3P events, and continuously drive better ways of doing things. This role also ensures the standard work used by production personnel is up-to-date and accurate.
Manages our PDI area and continuously finds ways to provide better service to our internal customers through metrics, better tools and equipment, and finding easier/better ways to complete projects.
Essential Duties AND Responsibilities:
• Implements and administers operations policy in support of Bally Technologies’ pursuit of flawless execution • Creates and maintains standard work for production personnel • Works closely with engineering, production, shipping, field service, product management, and project management • Ensures systems and procedures provide the best service to our internal customers • Participates and leads kaizen-related activity • Optimizes, implements, and successfully manages production efficiency and quality standards • Analyzes and implements process flow improvements • Develops and oversees implementation and administration of department policies, systems, and procedures • Determines optimum staffing model for the department • Prepares operational analyses for the department
Training AND/OR Experience:
• Five years concurrent experience in a computer operations facility or closely-related field • Three years direct management experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Leadership and personnel management • Technical documentation • Experience with leading projects • Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering
