Operations Manager Job in Mobile, Alabama US

JOB DESCRIPTION: OPERATIONS MANAGER sought by Major Corporation for its Chemical Manufacturing facility located in Mobile, Alabama area. Reporting to Plant Mgr, responsible for overall management of a specific Mfg. Operation containing 100 non union employees. Direct management of 4 Supervisors, 4 Engineers, 2 Planners in a 24/7 operation. Job functions include:

·         Assure employee compliance to all EHS Regulatory requirements. Be an advocate for Safety.

·         Mange Area in a manner to meet all Goal Expectations: operational costs, utilization, quality, reliability, budgets, customer needs, safety.

·         Ensure necessary raw materials and utilities are available to meet production requirements.

·         Drive Continuous Improvement through utilization of Six Sigma/ Lean methodologies.

·         Lead/ manage employees in a manner that maintains Non Union status.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         Must possess the ability/ experience to be a “backup” to the Plant Manager for future career growth purposes.

·         BS Chemical Engineer desired. Masters a plus.

·         Min 3 years experience in a Managerial role.

·         In depth knowledge of Chemical Manufacturing processes. Includes Project Planning, Cost Control, Equipment Maintenance, Program Management.

·         Experience utilizing Six Sigma/ Lean tools. Prefer Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certification.

·         Broad EHS experience dealing with Regulatory Compliance.
