Operations Manager

Description:

Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for our local Edmonton client.

 

Job Summary:

Operations Managers are expected to:

Lead a team of our employees as they execute clearing and cleaning activities in the refinery
Create, review and implement MOC-level clearing and cleaning procedures using computer-based document and CAD programs
Train client operations personnel on cleaning and clearing strategies
Follow-up with clients to ensure that we meet or exceed their expectations
Conduct business in a safe manner consistent with our Quality Policy,

Build key relationships with multiple levels of employees at our client companies
Participate in sales presentations, lending refinery expertise to specific application strategies
Control costs through daily prudent decisions
Pre-requisites

Successful Operations Managers with must have the following minimal prerequisites:

Ten years of refinery or chemical plant operations experience; A preference is given to those with significant knowledge of crude, coker and FCC units
Experience leading teams in refinery or chemical plants. A preference is given to those with supervisory experience and lead turnaround roles.
Ability to travel to outlying markets for supporting a growing list of clients including CA, IL and Alberta.

Operations Managers must have the capacity to:

Understand complex refinery piping circuits
Plan unit cleanings in the simple yet effective manner
Clearly and confidently communicate plans to refinery personnel at multiple organizational levels
Diagnose and solve problems during the actual applications
Lead and build teams of a diverse group of people ( Client, other Contractors) during implementation
Quickly master software tools such as MS Visio, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, and MS Outlook
Perform work safely in refining and chemical plant settings
