Job Summary
To assist local scheduling and real-time operations which facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the production department and CPS functions for a manufacturing facility. Functional responsibilities include production, operations planning and continuous improvement processes. Implements standard work and maintains improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating with discipline and rigor, and implementing autonomous maintenance. Performs a wide variety of duties in order to plan, organize and coordinate production departments and oversees several team leaders in supporting a safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

Ø        Oversees daily activities of Plant to maximize scheduling and real-time utilization of resources.

Ø        Execute plant-specific vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with the company vision.

Ø        Direct and oversee production managers, production line leaders and their roles and responsibilities throughout the day.

Ø        Drive employee engagement, training, and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment.

Ø        Effectively communicate results and action plans to all employees and managers.

Ø        Works directly with human resources to insure employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved.

Ø        Support and initiate cost savings measures to improve total cost per case.

Ø        Ensure all plant operations and business is conducted in a safe and controlled environment.

Ø        Ensure all quality and regulatory standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.

Ø        Works with Research and Development in product, development and implementation of plant trials.

Ø        Interfaces directly with production planning and materials management to optimize scheduled attainment and customer service.

Ø        Enacts contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.; identifies potential problems, troubleshoots, escalates issues to local management, and participates in root cause analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.

Ø        Reviews ongoing performance results to targets. Takes corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.

Ø        Participates in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate.

Ø        Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective mariner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

Ø        Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.

Ø        Projects a favorable image of the Company to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.

Ø        Keeps CEO promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.

Ø        Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned:

Knowledge and Skill Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Product Operations or equivalent field of study required.  Approximately 5 - 7 years previous operations management experience including forecasting, scheduling and real-time operations management

·          Experience in frozen food production environment

·          Lean Manufacturing

·          Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff

·          Analytical skills and statistical background

·          5 years’ experience in a medium plant environment (250+ employees).

·          USDA experience preferred

·          Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Basic mathematical and statistical skills.

·          Positive employee relations management.

·          Demonstrates understanding of end-to-end supply chain.
