Operations Manager Job in Vaughan, Ontario Canada

This position is responsible for planning and managing the day to day operations of the warehouse along with the operational support team. Our operations manager will build a very high performing team with an open level of thought exchange, and play a critical part in executing a forward thinking solutions based, ‘customer first’ strategy. The successful candidate, therefore, will break the traditional mold of the operations manager in that they will uniquely be able to execute the strategy while simultaneously managing to budget and fostering a safe, fun and effective work environment for his/her team members.

 

Tactical Responsibilities

·   Oversees, directs  and is accountable for day to day operations ensuring daily SLA’s and productivity goals are achieved

·   Prepare/ manage operations budget and responsible for PL accountability at the operating level to meet profit targets

·   Prepares and manages operational forecasts, operating plans and labour management plans

·    Responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and fair work environment for all team members

o        Manages relationships with key vendor, supplier and industry partners to ensure optimal support of the operation.

·   Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees, oversees employee evaluations

·   Communicates with client management to ensure client goals are met. First point of contact for client escalations

 

Organizational

·   Takes direction from, and works with organization engineers, solutions and information technology staff to design and engineer new, forward thinking processes and techniques

·   Contributes to execution of the firms strategic plans by managing the operation and providing operational insights into new business opportunities

·    Build and manage a HIGH PERFORMANCE team by Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees, and Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced

·   Foster a solutions based approach to issue resolution and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives  by creating an environment where all employees contribute to strategy and execution

 

Qualifications include:

 

·  Post Secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline is preferred

·  Minimum 5 years’ managerial experience in a high volume 3PL environment managing and developing high performance teams, preferable with experience managing a PL

·  Experience managing a significant eCommerce or “each” pick fulfillment operation

·  Strong awareness of business KPI’s, can make decisions quickly based on business trends

·  Natural problem solver, capable of thinking through problems in a systematical and logical manor

·  Self-confident and openly discusses ideas and concerns

·  Ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written, and interface with peers as well as executive level management

·  Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

·  Proven ability to influence peers and leadership on operational and business issues
