We are presently recruiting for the following position:
“Operations Manager”
Location: Winnipeg
Key Objectives:
Ø Assist the District Manager in ensuring profitable operation and expansion of the District
Ø Ensures adherence and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, all relevant legislation, and any applicable collective agreement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a client portfolio including renewals
- Sales development and support
- Operations equipment/vehicle purchase and maintenance
- Preparation and maintenance of Post Orders
- Patrol/alarm business performance
- Assists with scheduling and logistics during peak coverage times
- Reviews financial results and implementing fixes where required
- Coordinates logistics for all short-term and emergency coverage
- Ensures that all work accepted by the District meets Company standards and objectives
- Preserves all records and documents as required and promotes the continued growth of all Company assets
- Ensures the efficient day-to-day operation of the District through effective delegation, monitoring and intervention
- Recommends revisions to plans, policies, procedures, budgets and systems for approval by his or her District Manager, where such revisions would streamline operations in order to maximize profits and control costs
- Conducts all Performance Development Reviews for direct reports in a timely and equitable manner
- Works with District Manager and Human Resources Manager to establish and implement succession planning processes and training programs
- Represents and promotes G4S interests both internally and externally
- Ensures G4S international branding standards are met
- Acts as District Manager when required.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications:
- College Diploma required as a minimum
- Minimum five years work-related experience in a middle-management role, preferably in the Security Industry
- Ability to pass a police clearance
- Must obtain a valid Security Guard License within 3 months
- Achieves Certified Protection Officer status within 12 months of employment
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with employee groups and builds partnerships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to implement performance management with direct reports
- Basic understanding and comprehension of financial concepts and terminology
- Ability to prepare basic sales proposals if required
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate
- Facilitation/presentation skills
- Ability to use office software programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of rotational shifts and site schedules
- Basic understanding of pay/invoicing software
- Willingness to attend to serious operations incidents after hours
- Knowledge of relevant security and employment legislation
- Client service/consulting skills
- Traveling will be required to perform work at various client sites or other Branches; approximately 10-50%
