Operations Manager – Technology recruitment
Job Purpose
The Director of Operations (DOO) will be responsible for managing and ensuring the smooth running of the Company's entire day-to-day operations. He or she will originate and execute the Company's Operations Strategy, and will also lead the 'product supply', 'logistics', and 'quality control' functions of the organisation. He or She will act as a deputy to the CEO on all strategic and operational matters relating to the business.
Job Objective/Key Expectations
- To be a clear deputy to the CEO, taking control of all operational issues that arise in the Hong Kong office and Freelance Staff
- To originate, manage and execute the Company's Operations Strategy
- To ensure high standards and timely service delivery at all times
- To ensure smooth running of the company's overall web systems
- To contribute to Company's profits by managing and ensuring accurate and improved margin control of all services
- To manage, develop, retain, and build an effective, Client and quality-focused operations team
- To provide insights into ways of improving productivity, and ideas for new services that enhance Client retention and/or revenues
- To be an excellent project manager that can execute complex projects for the CEO and the business in general
- To provide input to the Company's overall business and operational strategy, being a member of the senior management team, and to stay on top of industry trends and best practice
Responsibilities:
Management
- Signing off on all personnel and administrative documents for the Hong Kong office, including cheque signatory
- Handling all IT concerns and liaising with the Company's external IT partners on any issues
- Working closely with the CEO on the company's overall business strategy
- Continually reviewing the Company's language, quality control and operations capability, and making appropriate recommendations as needed
- Periodically reviewing direct reports' staff training and coaching needs, and taking appropriate action to ensure staff's career growth and retention
- Conducting performance appraisals on direct reports at least twice a year and recommending promotions and career path development
- Preparing quarterly key deliverables for themselves and their team and coordinating relevant time management matrices to ensure that deliverables are met
- Measuring and reporting on quarterly QC and Operations Strategy effectiveness and contributing to the development of the annual commercial strategy based on Client data and feedback
- Preparing a quarterly review of the Company's QC and Operations Strategy effectiveness for presentation to the management team.
Skills Attributes
- At least 10 years' operations and/or project management experience
- Proven experience in leading a team
- Exceptional creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Sets high standards in quality and accuracy
- Team-oriented with an inclusive and collaborative way of working
- Excellent communication skills including a tactful and diplomatic communication style
- Commercially aware with the ability to analyse, set and execute product margins
- Native fluency in English and with Cantonese an added advantage
- Excellent computer skills
