Position/Title: Value Stream Manager
Department: Plant Administration
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary:
Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the development and implementation of world class programs and procedures as they relate to the manufacturing and maintenance functions and processes in support of the overall Operational Excellence goals and objectives
Responsibilities:
- Direct, plan, and coordinate all manufacturing and maintenance processes at Plant 1.
- Ensure a safe work environment through support and implementation of programs and processes designed to educate employees and prevent activities and actions that may create unsafe working conditions.
- Establish and direct an overall vision and direction for the daily manufacturing operations designed to meet production schedules, customer demand, inventory control, equipment efficiency, materials flow, while meeting quality requirements in an effective manufacturing process.
- Establish and direct an overall vision and direction for the Plant 1 maintenance operations, to meet the requirements of production schedules, environmental safety and health, and facilities operations.
- Develop and mentor staff and provide strong developmental support.
- Implement and improve key business metrics related to productivity through the support of lean and continuous improvement activities.
- Promote and facilitate work flow analysis and creating/implementation of standard work to achieve improvement priorities.
- Enhance and drive visual management opportunities for to sustain continuous improvement activities and gains.
- Coordinate, track and report monthly SQDIP activities and initiatives in support of meeting manufacturing, maintenance and business metrics.
- Develop and implement cost control/savings initiatives related to manufacturing activities, process improvements, maintenance performance and meeting budget and forecast requirements.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Technical, or Business related field preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a Progressive manufacturing leadership position.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement tools and applications. Certification a plus.
- Understanding of equipment, facilities and reliability management as it relates to maintenance planning and activities to support the plant operations structure.
- Knowledge and functional experience in an ISO Management Systems environment.
- Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills
- Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers and outside professionals.
- Demonstrated experience as change agent in driving a cultural shift to a more proactive, team oriented, high performance environment.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with proven ability to develop employees.
- Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
