Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business. 

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Regulatory Tax Operations is responsible for over 500 non-financial reporting and monitoring functions to over 400 regulators and exchanges. The group enhances the firm's regulatory and tax transaction and position data and operational controls and develops best practices and standards for processing, infrastructure, and change management. The group aims to leverage expertise consistently across regions and entities in order to demonstrate supervision to regulators and provide efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency around controls.

Regulatory Operations is responsible for producing various regulatory reports covering the firm’s trading activities in the Americas, Asia and EMEA regions, primarily transaction reports, shareholder disclosures and trade reports. The London team has responsibility for the firm’s non-financial regulatory reporting to all relevant regulators in the EMEA region, including the monitoring of positions and the preparation of trade, transaction and position reports across a wide range of financial products and business lines.

• Analyse the firms regulatory obligations to define the relevant reporting attributes
• Prioritise attributes based on risk modeling that will define the most significant attributes to our regulators
• Create scenario based use cases that identify the correct setting of the attributes that will be developed into systemic tests
• Partner with Technology, Compliance and Operations teams to ensure that the analysis is appropriate and thorough as part of the governance lifecycle for the programme
• Actively participate in the development of the strategic control framework for Regulatory Operations that will form the lasting legacy of the project
• Work with the wider project team across the Federation to participate in defining ownership of IFAs resulting from the control framework development and take the lead role in training the defined IFA owners on resolution
• Take ownership for the handover of IFA results within Regulatory Operations ensuring a warm handover and detailed explanation of root cause
• Manage maintenance of procedures and other documents relating to the analysis
• Participate in strategic initiatives across the wider Regulatory Operations department
• Develop solid working relationships with many other areas of the firm including the Front Office, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, as well as interaction with external clients and regulators to support various reporting functions.
• Support team involvement in other GS activities outside of daily work.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years work experience in the Securities Industry, preferably in an Operations role
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows
• Proven ability to organise and prioritise own workload and drive results
• Proactive and self-starting individual with high levels of ownership
• Flexibility and ability to learn quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills together with the ability to influence others and make decisions
• Be a graduate or be of graduate calibre

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with regulatory reporting
• Working knowledge of trade lifecycle
• Working knowledge of tradable financial products, e.g. Equities, Fixed Income, Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Derivatives
• Proficient in the use of MS Office products
