This position would be responsible for interacting with customers and carriers on a daily basis ensuring shipments are entered into system correctly, tendered, accepted, tracked/traced and delivered to destinations on time. Resolves issues quickly and professionally to ensure delivery times are met at the lowest landed cost to PepsiCo. Substantial interfacing with customers is necessary to assess shipping requirements and provide options if they fall outside of normal transit times. If shipment(s) must be expedited, conduct bids from 3-5 expedite carriers and determine right mode/carrier to utilize for shipment. Provides exceptional communication with carrier and shipping location to ensure load is picked up and delivered on-time.
Provides extraordinary customer service. Ensures customers are advised of issues and works with them to resolve to their satisfaction. Educates customers on transportation lead time requirements as to enable them to utilize least cost method shipments in the future. Monitors and tracks issues with customers and carriers to provide data to operations manager to follow-up. Working together with operations manager, learns all aspects of new transportation management system (I2 system) and how to maximize its benefits.
Works closely with other team members to ensure proper billing of customers, capturing of freight savings, and building into the clients premier freight service provider.

Requirements:
Provides timely response to calls, faxes, or e-mails from customers/requesters ensuring execution of their shipping orders. Analyzes freight requests for adequate lead time and if outside of normal shipment lead time works with customer by providing various options as how to best move freight at lowest landed cost for the client while still meeting customer’s delivery time-frame.
For unique shipments, works with the team to develop innovative/low-cost solution for customer.
Represents total service needs of customers. Takes steps to alleviate issues and improve service efficiencies.
Effectively uses the telephone/email to present a professional image where every customer is serviced in a consistent, courteous, and efficient manner.
Manages the carrier group and holds them responsible for picking up and delivering loads on time.
Provides backup support to other operations specialist on the team as to eliminate excessive customer hold times.
Monitors system generated exception/error reports and takes action as necessary to correct issues.
Produces and reviews various performance reports to help drive results.
Follows up with various customers as to ensure the highest level of customer service.
Develops a daily hot list that captures all shipments at risk of delivering on-time.
Directly responsible for making various decisions that satisfy customer while at the same time minimizing the clients transportation costs.
3-5 years of transportation experience.
Understanding of carrier and call center operations.
Previous customer service support experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office based applications such as MS Excel.
Must be extremely computer proficient.
Must have good interpersonal skills in order to interact/contribute to team and communicate with others in a professional manner.
Must have a Team / collaboration based approach to decision making.
Must have a “Can Do” attitude with a willingness to assist others in completing activities as needed.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to formulate effective action plans to deal with issues proactively.
Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be organized and able to manage several tasks simultaneously
Able to work an extended schedule with on-call responsibility
College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Transportation brokerage and work experience in high volume call center

Pay Rate: 16.00 - 18.00 Hourly DOE
