Operations Specialists – Deliveries, Clearing, Control recruitment

The Market Operations function covers two distinct areas, trade clearing and deliveries and the Control Unit within FFO acts as an internal review group, monitoring and reviewing regular deliverables within the team.

GMOMO Futures provides operational support on exchange traded futures, ranging from metals, Agricultural, Equities, Debt and Interest Rate products.

GMOMO FFO Operations clears and settles trades in listed derivatives and securities, manages funds transfers, provides custody services for proprietary and client assets, and maintains control over static product and client data.  These functions primarily support Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Markets and Investment Banking division and third party clients, through a variety of financial and regulatory control activities.

What we are looking for:

We currently have a number of exciting opportunities within the operations function of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Deliveries / Clearing:

• Position maintenance, ensuring Bank of America Merrill Lynch is reporting correctly against the gross trading positions to the market, which is a significant regulatory requirement for the unit.

• Handling the expiry process on the exchanges in question in accordance with the product specifications and reflecting this in the books and records.

• Supporting client servicing team, ensuring results of options are communicated accurately and timely.

• Facilitate the movement of securities to/from exchanges to meet initial margin liabilities.

• By nature the area has a very broad range of small undertakings, e.g. in excess of 100 tasks on a daily basis, therefore heavy focus on product/on the job training.

• Handling high volume trade allocation processing, ensuring trades are booked per our clients requirements, within an accurate and timely manner.

• Suspense management, included the booking of average price trades to client end accounts.

Controls:

• Monitoring of European FFO Exchange activities according to defined control protocols. Following identified matters through to final resolution.

• Preparation and assistance with key control group deliverables including monitoring and surveillance duties, FSA Transaction reporting, daily internal reporting and escalation, etc.

• Perform analytical work related to futures options activities and OTC cleared activities.

• Successful completion of individual projects and assignments.

• Interact with Internal Management, Regulated Exchanges, and Regulators as required.

What we are looking for:

Certain roles operate on a shift pattern between 06.30 – 20.30 on a varied rota so flexibility is required

• Previous experience working within Banking, Financial Services, Accountancy

• Ideally educated to degree level within a numerical or business related discipline

• Ability to cope with demanding workloads and multitasking

• Good communication skills, verbal and written

• Strong interpersonal skills and team work

• Organised and efficient, able to prioritise and re-prioritise work loads
