Description:
We have an opening in the Henderson Ocean Spray Cranberries plant for an Operations Supervisor. This is a position that will require flexibility around shifts, department, work-week, etc. While currently on a 12 hour/4-shift/24-7 operation, the plant will flex this to fit business demand as needed (ex. 8 hour/3-shift/24-5). This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Position Duties and Expectations:
- Provide sustained performance and engagement through effective leadership, utilizing a high level of integrity, communication and involvement.
- Able to embrace, promote and develop the vision of the Henderson plant while effectively coaching/leading the hourly team to embrace in-kind.
- Stewardship of the value system of the Henderson plant; complete and unrelenting team member safety, high level/value-added quality and everyday viability; this position will coach and develop their team to understand and willingly embrace the vision as a stable conduit to this vision.
- Embrace the core values of the Ocean Spray organization; Respect, Ownership, Innovation
- Coordinate, manage and effectively complete all administrative responsibilities. This would include payroll, vacation coverage, corrective action reports, review processes, etc.
- Embrace and drive to a zero-based mentality. This would include but not be limited to material loss (juice, supplies, finished goods, etc), product right the first time, labor and supplies commensurate to our baseline financial goals.
- Understand, meet and embrace the plant/department operational budgets, while able to communicate and teach the fundamentals of fiscal responsibility. This would include, but is not limited to PL linkage and basic operational accounting.
- Continuous improvement mindset and capabilities; able to understand and lead a zero-based approach while capable of understanding, learning and leading 5S, Center-lining, Autonomous Maintenance and other change management methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple work-streams, this individual will be organized and adaptable to a very fluid organization. This individual will be driven and relentless in pursuit of safety, quality and viability-we will not compromise or depart from our value-system. Additionally and equally as important, this position will understand and lead from a subservient leadership style.
Required Experience:
- Supervisory experience in a food, beverage, dairy, meat or like manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint SAP)
- Very strong leadership skills
- Ability to work in close proximity to electrical, mechanical, and pressurized equipment
- Sound familiarity with state and federal employment laws
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Schedule flexibility is required for this position
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar using Red Prairie, SAP, WMS computer systems
- SQF/ISO based background
- TPM/CI experience including Kaizen, AM, 5S, CL or other like tools
