Asset Services / Corporate ActionsCorporate Actions (COACS) is on e of the key product offerings within WSS Asset Servicing.
The group is responsible for the end to end process for all corporate actions including:
Announcement Capture, Client and Agent Instruction, Production Control, IOS Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Entitlement Completions and Client Enquiries.
Working with hubs in APAC and WHEM, the Bournemouth COACS Department is a dynamic environment, providing a bench mark product to all custody clients.
Team Description
Business Overview: Corporate Actions / Client and Agent InstructionThe COACS Instruction team in Bournemouth provides full global coverage to our clients for elective corporate events. This is achieved by ensuring all aspects of account balances and transactions are correctly reflected on the clients account in relation to a corporate event. Clients would notify JP Morgan of their intent to receive an option for a corporate event; JP Morgan would authenticate this instruction, reconcile the position and deliver this to the local market agent.
Key Responsibilities
Operational management, leadership and motivation of a processing team which is working to multiple tight deadlines where accuracy is of paramount importance. Ensuring that all daily controls and processes are completed and signed off.
Contribute to strategic planning and initiatives for the Asset Services product identifying key areas of opportunity, creating robust business cases for proposals and ensuring appropriate levels of analysis are undertaken.
Implementation of process improvements to deliver on agreed strategy.
Risk Awareness and Escalation:
Act as a focal point and take ownership for issue planning or crisis review situations. Ensuring timely escalation to both operational and risk leads.
Work with product development across lines of business:
Settlements, FX Risk
Qualifications
Your Background:
You must have a proven track record of successful operational management within Financial Services.
You will have experience of risk and controls management.
You can demonstrate experience of managing business continuity, daily controls and recovery planning.
You can discuss in detail your experience of strong relationship management communicating complex issues with your team, business partners, internal and external stakeholders, encompassing influencing and negotiation skills.
You will be able to give examples of your experience managing flexibility within the work place.
Technical Skills: Must have Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint; Access
Desirables:
You will have at least a relevant degree and/or previous operational management experience
You will have previous operations management experience in corporate actions (COACS), Securities, Custody, Investment Bank.
IAQ or other industry related qualifications.
