Operations Trade Support recruitment
This position has primary responsibility for monitoring and supporting of options trading system applications and exchanges. The individual in this role will solve complex problems that require both technical and business understanding. The candidate will work with traders, back-office, exchanges, and developers to investigate and solve system issues
- Monitor Options trading systems and ensure it runs smoothly
- Research latent orders and liaise with trading exchanges and venues
- Reconcile trades and position breaks
- Identify, troubleshoot and respond to emergency situations impacting traders and/or exchanges
- Interact directly with traders to troubleshoot problems
- Participate in application release deployments
- Participate in change control procedures for rollout from development to production
- Cooperate with System Administrators to assist with forecasting system utilization
- Author process and procedure documentation
- Exhibit solid organizational skills
- Participate in and lead projects
- Conduct deep dive analysis to determine root cause of technical issues
- Demonstrated audit, problem solving and analytical skills
- Familiar with trading process including back office systems, front-end clearing systems and order entry systems
- Superior database Excel, and word knowledge
- Experience working with order entry systems and policies and procedures of various exchanges.
- Previous experience with TCP/IP and UDP networking in a Linux or Unix environment
- Experience administering proprietary applications in a Linux / Windows environment
- Experience supporting proprietary developed applications
- Previous scripting experience with Perl, Bash; experience with Python a plus
- Experience with SQL required; experience with Postgresql a plus
- Experience with IT or application support working in financial services or electronic trading environment.
- Knowledge of web development a plus (HTML, PHP, etc.)
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of financial terminology
- Comfortable working in an intense, high stress, high pace environment
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Good troubleshooting skills and pro-active attitude
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent
