Operations/Business Analyst – BASEL III recruitment
The Basel III objectives for Operations are to support the design and implementation of solutions to support the creation of an improved risk framework for calculating counterparty exposures for all products.With the regulatory environment and clients’ needs evolving rapidly, the role offers a challenging and interesting opportunity to support the delivery of strategic change.
The role will be focused on designing and writing a new control framework for the day-to-day process involving a system, Risk Analytics. The role will have interactions with the Front Office, Middle Office, IT, Credit Risk, Market Risk and Finance in solving complex problems to support the BASEL III go-live, January 1, 2013:
More specifically, the candidate will required to:
• Work with subject matter experts to document required controls in the current process
• Take into account new feeds and data, designing new controls to ensure that all data has integrity and processed on a timely basis
• Ensure controls in the REM Middle Office team are well documented
• Work with Run the bank team to ensure good understanding of new controls, prior to hand-over
• Work with IT to incorporate new controls into IT daily processes / procedures
• Agree with Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk and upstream Risk Systems what the common set of controls are across each team in the front to back process
• Build metrics that measure effectiveness of new controls
Requirements
• Demonstrable experience of change-the-bank projects
• Middle Office Experience in the following product areas: IRS, CDS, Equity Derivatives, or Exchange Traded Derivatives is strongly preferred
• Must be able to take direction but also work independently, have common sense and be able to question status quo
• Must be attentive to details, able to work with diverse resource pool (product development, sales, operations, middle office, IT development and QA teams)
• Have good understanding of agile development projects
• Have strong analytical and documentation skills
• A strong team player and relationship builder, comfortable in working with a global and diverse team/stakeholders across different locations and looking to work in a cross-product environment
• Able to anticipate potential problems, ‘think on feet’ to resolve and/or escalate appropriately
• Able to influence others over which you have no direct management authority at different levels in the organisation
• Able to prioritise work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
• Competent using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
