First Data has created strong relationships with financial institutions and retailers throughout the world to assist them with various aspects of transaction processing. Our Remitco team supports these financial institutions and retailers through lockbox/remittance processing. We're now recruiting for a Mail Processing Operator who will process customer payments that are mailed to lockboxes. As a Mail Processing Operator, you will operate a variety of equipment to presort, open, and extract incoming remittances as well as perform routine maintenance and clean the equipment. After opening and sorting the mail, you will prepare the work to be distributed for processing. You may also be involved in other aspects of the processing to include, examining work in our exceptions queue and processing look-ups. Working in this high speed environment, you will need to meet production and quality standards, so accuracy and attention to detail are imperative. You will utilize computers to track progress on your jobs, so previous PC experience is desired. Additionally, you will be working in a team environment, where collectively, you'll be working towards the same production and quality goals. Therefore, we're looking for someone who works well in a team environment, is flexible, professional and willing to help others. Our facility is open 24 hours/7 days a week so we do look for new employees that are flexible to work on various shifts. Due to the complexity of this processing, we strongly prefer candidates who have previous remittance/lockbox experience. Additionally, if you have previous production or machine operating experience, you are encouraged to apply as well. First Data will train you thoroughly and help you through your first weeks to ensure you are comfortable operating the equipment. We look forward to receiving your application! Responsible for utilizing various high-speed mail extraction devices (MPS 30 sorter, OPEX 150 and OPEX 51) to presort, open, sort, and extract incoming remittances. The operator must meet departmental production and quality standards and be fully capable of making quick and accurate sorting decisions. Subsequent to the opening and sorting of mail, the operator prepares work to be distributed for processing. Prepare regular and third party payments for transport operations and exceptions processing by opening, counting, sorting, and extracting various types of incoming mail remittance transactions within productivity and quality objectives. Extracts, logs, and forwards non-processable items to exceptions area; performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as well as identifies potential processing issues. Accuracy with particular attention to detail; good listening and oral communication skills; ability to work in a high production and critical quality standard work environment; previous production experience; basic computer and office equipment experience helpful; ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time; must maintain high levels of manual dexterity; high school education or equivalent; overtime required as needed.
