OPEX Manager, IP, Operations Job in Seneca Falls 13148, New York US
We seek candidates that have experience applying VBLSS systems and tools in a Foundry or Industrial Manufacturing environment.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position will support Value Based Lean Six Sigma (VBLSS) implementation within the value center as a dedicated hands-on expert for disseminating knowledge, project selection and training/coaching for all levels of the organization. They will take a leadership role in Lean initiatives or projects focused on elimination of waste across all centers of excellence. They will also provide training and mentoring for Green/Black Belt candidates as determined with the VBLSS Champion.
The OPEX Manager is responsible for developing the improvement plans with the other leaders in his/her value center around the applicable lean principles - including manufacturing and transactional processes - to meet or exceed the savings / cost avoidance targets established in the Goal Deployment Plan (GDP). Additionally, they will conduct Lean Leadership Boot Camps (identifying opportunities to reduce waste, inventory and cycle times for the value center) and successfully lead Kaizen events as identified by the individual sites and centers of excellence. Above all, the OPEX Manager must fulfill the needs of the company in a manner which is consistent with ITT's vision and values.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide the Manufacturing Facilities with support resources to develop, train, and document processes, programs, tooling in support of lean transformation.
Assist in developing group objectives in conjunction with foremen, supervisors and general managers.
Establish and document on all new equipment and processes, proper methods, tooling, programs, Pro E drawings, and standards (EASE) that satisfies the needs of the Manufacturing Facilities.
Perform financial analysis in order to validate processes and cost in preparations for make vs. buy and capital purchase decisions.
Assist in planning, developing and implementation of capital and non-capital projects.
Support Lean initiatives to eliminate waste and improve OTP.
Prepare and maintain accurate drawing of plant layouts.
Promote cost reduction ideas in the area of facility rearrangement; improve equipment and processes using "state- of-the-art" technologies to include Demand Flow Initiatives.
Analyze existing processes, equipment and performances to provide recommendations for needed capacity, efficiency, customer service, quality or safety.
Monitor the installation of tooling and machines, insuring the lowest possible cost and timely implementation.
Manage the above job responsibilities insuring the best possible interaction and cooperation between bargaining and non-bargaining employees.

Education: BSME / IE Degree, or equivalent work experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering. Experience in working with lean improvement teams in an industrial manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience driving large scale manufacturing improvement projects with results showing significant evidence of increased productivity and cost savings. Capital improvements related to inventory reduction, waste elimination and cycle times.
Experience working in a union environment is helpful. Factory floor experience is required
Skills/Knowledge:
• Industry certifications as Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt, Lean Sensei, Red X Master or TransaXional Shainin, Shingijitsu lean principles are highly desired.
