The Ophthalmic Technician is an employee who, in the Ambulatory Care setting safely performs a range of routine clinical skills in assisting the ophthalmologist in his practice. The successful candidate is certified or able to be certified with a minimum of two years experience in Ophthalmology. The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for patient flow, patient work-ups including Refraction, applanation, visual field skills, repair and upkeep of equipment and special instruments, stocking rooms, assisting with the ordering of supplies, communicating effectively with others and with A-Scan, fundus photography experience being a plus. Must be willing to work with all aspects of contact lenses. Hours M-F 8:00 - 5:00.
