Ophthalmology (Eye surgery) Registered Nurse Position.
Austin Eye is an ophthalmology/eye surgeon practice providing state-of-the-art eye care and eye surgery for the Austin community.

We need a Registered Nurse (RN) to help with the administrative work and patient care needs that will help us provide the best care for our patients in our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) and within our office for general patient care as well as administrative work. We will train the right individual who is motivated to learn. No prior ophthalmology experience is required.

The RN's primary responsibilities will be to assist in the preoperative and postoperative work for patients undergoing eye surgery in an outpatient setting. The RN will also serve as circulating nurse in the OR. Our most common surgical procedure is cataract surgery. The RN will also be required to care for patients in the office and serve two additional roles 1) helping with general office administrative work and 2) helping to care for patients as an ophthalmic technician.
There is a considerable amount of administrative work involved in the position which includes: preparing patients' medical records, working with patients' medical insurance plans, and completing financial transactions and patients' scheduling needs. We will introduce you to the world of eye surgery such as laser vision correction and cataract surgery.

The RN will often be the first and the last impression that each patient has within our office. Our goal is to provide the best patient experience for each individual who contacts our office. We need you to be personable, reliable, honest, motivated to learn and excel, and be detail-oriented. Active Texas Registered nurse license is required.

This position is intended to be part-time -- 3 to 4 days per week. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8a-5p. No weekends. We have two office locations: Central and Northwest Austin. Though the individual will be asked to work at both offices during the week, most of the time will be spent at our Northwest Austin office.
