Key Roles Responsibilities
Over an allocated group of countries have the following responsibilities:
1. To be the source of reference in facilitating and promoting the understanding of OR and compliance requirements.
2. Lead and support implementation of OR initiatives.
3. Proactively communicate with the department heads and OR managers on operational risk issues. Escalate significant events to as appropriate.
4. Coordinate, consolidate and analyse operational risk reporting, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
5. Design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management. Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management.
6. Undertake and/or coordinate periodic business monitoring (self-assessment) activities within the countries and escalate findings and or breaches when they occur.
7. Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
8. Assist in the implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.
9. Identify gaps and arrange training on compliance and OR for staff.
10. Perform ops risk review using the agreed methodology.
11. Coordinate risk specific development projects.
12. Identify potential areas of automation and oversee implementation
13. Improve the quality and scope of risk reporting
Qualifications Skills
- Degree holder in Financial, business or other related undergraduate degree
- 3 to 5 years banking experience in Operations.
- Have a good understanding of industry standard processes within Operations such as settlement, confirmations and reconciliation.
- Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and a proven ability to work independently.
- Must be self motivated and have a strong attention to detail.
- Experience of working within a multi product environment is preferred.
- Experience in Operational Risk Management or Operations Middle Management is essential
