Project Unicorn is a global programme which will enable the transfer of assets and liabilities from RBS NV to RBS plc. Unicorn is significantly complex in APAC with business spanning approximately 150 legal entities and 9 countries. APAC Unicorn Programme requires strong leadership to deliver the transfer of branch assets and subsidiaries in Indonesia and Thailand in 2012.
Description
Group Services Asia is in the process to establish shared services by our Reference Data Management team to support the Asian region. The objective is to extend specialized data management skills comprising all existing Reference and Client Data activities within Asia Region, supporting ‘One Ops Model’ approach.
Activities
Primary:
- Monitor queue of Authentication requests
- Ensure Authentication requests are acted on in a timely manner
- Conduct Authentication as per RBS policies
- Update appropriate systems once authentication is completed
- Escalate in a timely manner issues / concerns
Secondary:
- Participate in projects as required to migrate authentication to the regional hub and improve authentication processes
- Work with Risk and Control and Business Liaison Management to respond to internal and external audit, SOX testing and regulatory reviews
Other Deliverables
- Ensure the business area conducts its activity in accordance with all relevant RBS policies
- Ensure compliance with the regulatory and statutory requirements and RBS Compliance policies and procedures affecting the business area
- Report any breaches of regulations to Legal and Compliance
- Ensure that the business unit operates in accordance with stipulated risk management policies and procedures covering market risk, credit risk and operational risk
- Ensure that failures and shortcomings in policies and procedures are reported
- Escalate issues to the Section Manager in accordance with Escalation Policy
Essential Experience:
- Experience in Data Management within Financial Services, specifically client and reference data
- Able to communicate to management and peers and clients effectively and efficiently.
- Stakeholder management skills
Supplementary Experience:
- Experience of working with middle- and back-office functions
- Previous experience working in a cross-functional environment
- Experience of implementing process improvement methodologies
- Good knowledge of banking operations
